Steve then attended a Barry Summer School under the tutelage of Don Rendell. "Don", says Steve, "showed me how everything fits together."
Now living in the Greater Manchester area, Steve leads his own quintet.

Saxophonist Steve came to jazz in a round-about way. He began with the clarinet when he was eleven, playing classical music.Later he played in a military band and at twenty one bought a flute and a saxophone.
