Derrick Harris
We kick off our summer programme with guitarist Derrick Harris, described by American jazz critic Scott Yanow as "an excellent jazz guitarist, inspired by the likes of Wes Montgomery and Grant Green but with a sound of his own".
Derrick's long and varied career as a freelance guitarist has seen him working as a soloist with bands up and down the country, in West End and touring productions of shows such as Chicago, Grease, Chorus Line and 42nd Street, and as accompanist to artists as diverse as Jack Jones, Gene Pitney, Marti Caine and opera star Lesley Garrett.
Tonight this hugely experienced and versatile guitarist is accompanied by Andy Cholerton (keyboards), Bob Walker (bass) and Tom Townsend (drums).
