Simon Beddoe
Following a feast of tenor sax players in January, we welcome back trumpet and flugelhorn player Simon Beddoe.
Simon has worked with many critically acclaimed groups and artists, toured with ensembles throughout the world and played all the major UK festivals and venues. He has received international acclaim for his work with ground-breaking electronica group Submotion Orchestra for whom he composes and plays brass. Immediately following his Scarborough gig he goes on tour with Abstract Orchestra, a 16 piece ensemble playing live hip-hop.
Simon is also a jazz educator and having graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2003 is now a senior lecturer there as well as coordinating their events management module.
Tonight will be an opportunity to hear Simon as a featured soloist, and with influences including Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard and Donald Byrd that should be quite a treat, with Mark Gordon (keyboards), Bob Walker (bass) and Tom Townsend (drums).
