Northern Star Organ Trio
Following their debut last year, Scarborough Jazz Club is pleased to welcome back Northen Star Organ Trio. Formed in 2023, this trio of seasoned performers are old friends with a wide range of experience between them.
Bob Birch became known for his Hammond playing after joining the New Mastersounds funk/jazz fusion band in 1998, touring Europe and the US and producing over a dozen albums. Guitarist Rob Bromhead heads up Baildon Guitar School and is part of Appel4 gipsy jazz band. Drummer Bruce Renshaw has played in rock bands, big bands, jazz bands, brass bands, funk bands and musicals.
The trio play a mixture of 60’s soul classics, rare groove and original tunes, with a nod to 1960’s Blue Note recordings. Think Booker T, Jimmy Smith and Jack McDuff. Your feet won’t keep still.
