We welcome popular Scarborough based saxophonist Julia Wray. Julia has more than 20 years’ experience playing jazz, pop, soul and funk. From cruise ships to smart hotels in hot climates to London’s Ministry of Sound, Julia has played all genres of music in settings ranging from big bands to showbands to leading her own quartet to guesting as a soloist in jazz clubs across Britain. Tonight she’s bringing that rich musical experience to a jazz gig in her home town.
Expect a mix of standards, jazz classics and a helping of funk, backed by the four-piece house band MG4.
In the support slot we present the Scarborough Jazz debut of the town’s newest young jazz combo – a meeting of two families and four brothers.
